Kapsa rice being served - camping style

During the picnic, the kapsa was served on the ground (on top of a carpet, then plastic, then tin foil) after which we ate "con mucho gusto" with our right hands (as per tradition).

what spices make the rice yellow? chicken stock? do they use saffron? the spanish use a lot of saffron. expensive stuff.
